Two major shipping companies takeover terminal company at the Port of Gothenburg
Göteborgs Hamn AB and has signed a 25-year concession agreement with DFDS A/S and C.PORTS S.A, who will run the Ro-Ro Terminal through a joint company.

Stable recovery at the largest port in the Nordic region
The recovery from the downturn in freight volumes in 2009 is continuing. During the first half of the year an increase was reported in both containers and ro/ro units. The largest increase – almost 70 per cent - was noted in the car segment.

Crude oil transit storage commences at the Port of Gothenburg
The first vessels have now discharged crude oil into the cavern at the Port of Gothenburg. This will form the base for crude oil transit storage at the Tor Harbour, which is expected to increase present crude oil volumes substantially.

Go-ahead for underground crude oil storage
The Port of Gothenburg is set to begin construction of a facility for crude oil storage in one of the underground caverns at the port, with completion within 24 months. It is estimated that the investment will increase current crude oil volumes by up to 60 per cent.

Despite the downturn, new volume records were set for containers, oil and rail.
