The Port of Gothenburg welcomes the Swedish government proposal to ease tax on Onshore Power Supply for vessels. The Port has for a long time spoken out in favour of this technology and now hopes that the announcement will lead to greater use of the system.
The first vessels have now discharged crude oil into the cavern at the Port of Gothenburg. This will form the base for crude oil transit storage at the Tor Harbour, which is expected to increase present crude oil volumes substantially.
The newly established companies at the Port of Gothenburg will commence operations today and the work involved in the transfer to external operators will enter a new phase.
